“My love for the wild started as a very young girl growing up as a farm girl without a farm. I constantly read outdoor books including everything I could get my hands on that Gary Paulsen wrote. I loved books like “Hatchet” and “My Side of the Mountain.” Of course my parents always took us on long vacations every summer to explore the world around us. By the time I was 13 I had been to 49 out of 50 states! Also my good buddy Erika fueled my love for horses and the outdoors. We really were quite tomboyish growing up… we were constantly building forts and trying to start fires in her woods! Good times. As I got older, my love for hunting was fueled by my long time significant other Tony. He has taught me a lot about the ways of the woods… duck hunting, deer hunting, bird hunting, and fishing. From guns, to guts, to gas, and glory, adventure is always just around the corner with him.”

“My biggest challenge which took years to overcome, was being accepted as an equal among men at all men deer camps, hunt clubs, snowmobile clubs and everything that comes with male dominated industries. My father was not an outdoorsman so many of the skills I’ve acquired, I have had to teach my self, read, ask other men, or simply learn by trial and error.”

“My goals for the future entail a horse back elk hunt out west (hopefully on one of my horses) and to hone my horsemanship skills working with cattle. I love being out on the range with my horses working cattle. Currently this is my biggest love and everything I am doing right now is working towards the next step!”20181006_065735.png

“There is so much to love about being in the wild. For me, whether it is on my horse, sliding around corners at 60mph on my snowmobile, or sitting in a deer stand in the calm of the Canadian wilderness… I feel grounded and thankful to be alive. The blood gets pumping and you can not help to feel blessed to be a part of this beautiful earth that the Lord created for us to enjoy, discover, take care of, and have the most epic adventures doing what we love.”
