“I wasn’t born in the woods but I got there as fast as I could” is a statement that describes me!

   As far back as I can remember, I was always doing something outside. It started with fishing with my dad and then deer hunting with him. Eventually I started hound hunting with my brother and step dad. Very quickly I fell in love with hound hunting and it became my passion.

   We hunt bear, bobcat and coyote so there’s almost year round hunting here. Most weekends you can find me following our dogs through the woods. I have seen some beautiful places and made many memories because of them!

    One of my most memorable hunts was in 2015. We went out west mountain lion hunting. This was my first trip out there and it was so much fun! I was able to fill my tag and now have the most beautiful mountain lion hanging on my wall. This hunt is so special to me because my brother passed away last year and I have so many pictures and memories of us on this trip.

     My advice to other ladies looking to get into hunting: do it! Join groups like this. Find other women who enjoy the outdoors. Most of us will share our knowledge and help you get into whatever sport you’re interested in. You will meet so many new people and make so many memories that you won’t regret it!
