My dad and I own an 80 acre tree farm in Waupaca Co WI. I have 2 young boys that keep me on my toes and love to go exploring at the “tree farm”. My boys are in the stage of “boys rule and girls drool”. It’s important to me to share with them that their mom and women in general can do anything they want to if you put in the time, prepare, learn from experiences and execute their goal. If not right away, brush the dust off, get up and go after it again. Don’t give up after a fail. Work harder and smarter to fulfill your goals.
In 2017 my dad agreed to take hunters safety with me. We both enjoyed learning something new to us. A couple months after class was our 1st hunt. I made every rookie mistake in the book from falling asleep and waking up to a buck walking threw the treeline, knocking the barrel of my gun on the stand and watching the deer running away and loading the gun but not putting one in the chamber. (And yes I did get my 1st deer day 2 of the hunt) I made lots of mistakes but learned so much from each experience. That’s what it’s about. Enjoying the beauty that nature has to share and experience the land and animals.

(My favorite hunting moment besides sending the picture of the bucks rack to my husband was spending time with my dad in his stand)
I really enjoy seeing all the wildlife on my trail cameras, but sitting and listening to the peaceful sounds of nature and seeing the animals walking by you if such an amazing experience.I don’t hunt for the trophy. I hunt for the meat but a rack is sure a great bonus. My husband has been an outdoors man his whole life and I am slowly learning. He is my biggest hunting influence. My husband is always teaching me. The knowledge I received from him is amazing. He makes me clean out my own deer, but does a wonderful job walking me through it.

This year(Nov 2019) opening morning was rather eventful for me:
Prior to this year I hunted with my husband’s old shotgun. This year I used a rifle with a great scope. Well the morning didn’t start off real good. Got to my stand and it wasn’t in the location I told my husband to put it. I had huge blind spots down my left and right lanes. I set my chair as far back in my stand as I could to get greater visibility to my left and right, leaving too much room to the front.
